Add a Coast FIRE calculator to your site

Last reviewed

Free, with no ads, and nothing your readers type is sent anywhere. Paste the code into your post.

What your readers see

Readers enter their age, what they've invested, when they'd like to retire and what they'll spend each year. The answer changes as they type. If they want more, they can open the full calculator in a new tab with their numbers already filled in, and add saving, Social Security, a partner or part-time years.

Copy the code

Paste it where you want the calculator to appear. In WordPress, use a Custom HTML block. Most other editors have an HTML or embed block that works the same way.

<iframe src="https://coastyear.com/embed/coast-fire-calculator" title="Coast FIRE calculator" loading="lazy" style="width:100%;max-width:640px;height:800px;border:0;color-scheme:light"></iframe>
<p style="font-size:14px">Coast FIRE calculator by <a href="https://coastyear.com/">Coastyear</a></p>
<script src="https://coastyear.com/embed.js" async></script>

Good to know

  • It's free and has no ads. You don't need an account, and neither do your readers.
  • The math runs in your reader's browser. Their numbers aren't sent to us or stored anywhere, and the calculator sets no cookies.
  • The script only sets the frame's height so the whole calculator shows without scrolling. If your site strips scripts, leave it out and the frame keeps a fixed height.
  • The line under the frame links to Coastyear. If your site marks outbound links as nofollow, add rel="nofollow" to it.
  • It fits columns from 320 to 640 pixels wide.
  • It uses the same math as our main calculator, written out on How we calculate: a 5% return after inflation and the 4% rule.
